Spring & Summer

Do you wear shorts in the summertime?  I actually have a lot of women tell me they don’t wear shorts. I know, from experience, as we age our legs don’t always look like we would like them to. There were a few years that I did not wear shorts because of spider veins until I finally decided to get rid of them with injections. It was so worth it! I still have some but not as much as I use to. I also use a self tanner on my legs to give them a little color but also to cover some of those small veins. With the heat as bad as it is here in the south I honestly don’t know what I would do…

Things are looking a little bit different for a lot of us right now and this may continue for the next few months.  I hope all of you are staying at home, if it is possible for you to. My husband and I haven’t left the house in over a week and we plan on continuing that lifestyle for a little while.  Not knowing how this virus will affect us gives me enough reason to try my best to stay far away from anyone until this has all calmed down.  What an experience this has been right?! I hope and pray that you and your families are well and stay that way.  I have been clinging to the verse 2 Timothy 1:7 which says “For…

Welcome to the age of 40!  I am now 43 and still feel like I am in my 20’s.  I certainly hope you do too! I wanted to write this post about Style Tips for Women Over 40 because I believe it is partially about what you wear but mostly about how you wear it. I hope you do not think that there should be a drastic change in how you dress when you enter your 40’s, 50’s, or 60’s because that is just not true. I wear some of the same things I wore in my 20’s and 30’s, I just wear them differently!  Just because you turn 40 doesn’t mean everything immediately changes. The further you get into your 40’s than we can…

Spring was predicted to come early this year.  Personally, I am looking forward to it and I hope you are too.  These 23 Spring/Summer Essentials will help you create a good foundational wardrobe for the spring season.  You may already own what I suggest or you will be able to see what pieces you might be missing. Essential items in your wardrobe are “essential” for you to build a long lasting wardrobe and are the foundation for you to add your own personal style items to.  Essentials will last the longest in your wardrobe and rarely go out of style. Some will even be worn year round.   These essentials are also for any age. They are basic enough that anyone over 40, 50 and 60…

Every season I look forward to seeing what trends will be popular for mainstream shoppers like me. Not everything that is seen at NY Fashion Week is the end-all be-all for trends. The big wigs set the stage for what we might see in retail stores and the styles are not as extravagant. I don’t know about you, but after seeing some of the designers creations I am glad this is the case. After culling through the numerous trends from the runway shows, I wanted to present to you the spring 2020 trends that any woman can wear. Whether you are in your 20’s, 30’s, 40’s or 50+ you can wear these 5 trends. Trends Any Woman Can Wear Tie Dye  Tie dye has to…

Hi! The biggest question I get when helping clients put outfits together is “How do I dress in between season’s?”  This is the hardest time of year to figure out what to wear because the weather just doesn’t cooperate. Also, transitioning a wardrobe into spring seems a lot harder for people than transitioning into fall. There are a few tips I always give that seem to help in what I call the “transitional season”. Here is a video with updated outfits on YouTube! https://youtu.be/gY8zmrqPA_U Tips for Styling Your Outfits Wear items that are for cooler weather but are spring colors. Use items from fall to layer over spring items. Accessorize your favorite pieces from winter with accessories from spring. Transitional Outfits in Cooler Weather Since…

Why am I writing about tie dye you might ask?! Well, I purchased the cutest tie dye sweatshirt at TJMaxx and noticed that tie dye prints were going to be a fun trend for this spring/summer season. This is a trend I think any age can wear so I think it’s worth talking about. I really like fun pieces you can add into your existing wardrobe without it getting too complicated. Tie dye is just that! Tie dye clothing became popular in the 1960’s and 70’s.  I personally recall tie dye being popular again in the 90’s along with the frizzy hair and parachute pants!  I will welcome back tie dye over the other two any day! Not all trends that come back are even…
