Hello friends!  I hope all is well with you!  I am seriously glad that February is the shortest month of the year! February just so happens to be my least favorite month so I’m glad it’s the shortest.  It is the month of love and that is just about it.  We get deep into winter, the days are so short and Spring is so close you can smell it!  There is a crazy lull in the fashion world that makes coming up with good content challenging. That is why I am glad I picked the Play! by Sephora subscription to write about.  It is my favorite subscription but more importantly it is consistent and comes once a month.  Well, as long as it makes it to my house from the post office that is! I am not trying to be Negative Nancy here, just trying to keep it real!

If you read these posts you will notice that I did not do a January one.  The reason is that it somehow got lost at the post office and they were all sold out and could not send another one.  Well, to my surprise it showed up in my mailbox last week! So, I will get to that one soon.

Since February is love month you can only guess what the theme of the box is.  Yep, Feel The Love! The box is meant to celebrate the beauty loves that we can’t live without.  They even included two lipsticks so we can share one with a friend!  I wish it had been the same one so I didn’t have to choose!

The box contained the following and below are some shopable links if you are interested in looking at any of them.

Laura Mecier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rose Gold: This is my favorite sample that came in the box.  I use several of her products including some of her eye shadows so I am really looking forward to trying it.  The caviar stick is a creamy eye shadow that is long-lasting and delivers subtle color.  They recommend using it in the corners or on the brow line and on the lids if you just want some sparkle.  The rose gold is a light pink champagne shade that I think will be perfect subtle color on my pale skin.  If you have darker skin it will be even better!

Sephora Collection Rouge Matte Lipstick in Rebel Chic:  This is a super matte but ultra moisturizing lip stick.  Rebel Chic is a berry color and unfortunately it is sold out online.  I have been wanting a berry color lipstick so I am going to give this one a try.  I am not a fan of matte lipsticks because they are usually too dry for my taste but since this one is “ultra moisturizing” maybe it will be a good one.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pincil in Let’s Go Crazy: NARS is one of those companies that you either love them or you don’t.  I did purchase a light pink lip gloss from them that I love but that’s it for me.  This one is listed as a best seller for Sephora so it will definitely be worth it for someone to have. The majority of the makeup line has very saturated bright colors and that is just not my thing.  This hot pink pencil is probably going to be the one I give away since I normally don’t wear bright pink on my lips.  And don’t get me wrong, they make very good products they just aren’t part of my go to brands.  They are a little more funky for my taste.

Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Peeling Gel:  This is an exfoliating gel that is supposed to reveal a healthy glow.  It is rich in fruit enzymes that remove dead skin cells and clear your clogged pores.  Who doesn’t need that! They recommend only using this one up to three times per week.  The cost for 3.4 ounces is $48 and the sample size is 0.5 ounces.  So your getting a pretty good value with this one!  The sample should also last you a while.

I  tried this peeling gel already and Whoa!! You rub a small amount in a circular motion on the skin and it literally “peels” the skin and then you rinse it off.  This takes exfoliating to another level due to the fact that I had balls of skin form as I rubbed it in a circular motion. This is the type of product that would be great for a man after he shaves to clean out any skin covering his pores that might cause ingrown hairs.

I will say I had a couple of pimples when I woke up in the morning after using it but who knows if that caused them. I really thought it was just so cool so I am going to continue to use this every other day and make it part of the morning routine.  That way my skin will be fresh and ready for makeup.

Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb:  I am a huge fan of Korean products. This is one of the first Korea brands I ever tried at Sephora. I used the True Cream Aqua Bomb for a while and loved it.  My mother has me trying Rodan & Fields (she is a consultant) right now so I’m not currently using it.  I am excited about this eye cream because it almost had 5 stars on Sephora’s website and I am a huge eye cream fanatic.  I am still on the search for the perfect one so I try lots of samples!

The description says that this one is good for moisturizing, lifting and fine lines and wrinkles.  They also say it is great for using as a prep before you apply your makeup.  I love eye creams that are great for that. The worst thing is to have your makeup run because your eye cream is too moisturizing.  Maybe the opposite is worse, when it doesn’t moisturize enough and it looks all dry! Yuck!

Just an FYI in case gel type products bother you.  These moisture bomb products have more of a gel consistency and have a little bit of a sticky feel after you put them on.  This dissipates after several minutes but thought this might be a key factor in whether you would try this product or not.

Atelier Cologne Vanilla Insensee Cologne:  Well, you know I am not a fan of perfumes and they have come in every box but January’s. This one has notes of Vanilla, Coriander, Lime, Jasmine, Vetiver, Oakwood and Amber. If I would ever wear a perfume it would be in a vanilla scent or some type of musk which it seems like this one fits both of those characteristics.  A one ounce bottle of this stuff is $85! So, if you are a lover of perfume and like to wear different ones, subscribing to the Play by Sephora monthly box  would be worth it I think! Heck, I may even try this one!

So in December’s post I had mentioned a Dr Jart Tiger Grass Cream that helps calm the skin.  I said I would report back on it.  I really liked how it made my skin feel and the smell was nice.  I don’t have a whole lot of redness and irritation so I did not notice a big difference there.  But, if you do have irritation, this would be worth a try for the fact that I may not have given it long enough. It was a great moisturizer without feeling greasy.

This post is really to show you what kind of products you will get in the subscription box. They are amazing brands and decent size samples that make it worth $10 a month. I have even gotten some full size products in the box. When you subscribe to a company that has great products your samples will be great.  If you have any questions about any of these or the subscription please feel free to comment below! I would also love to know if you use any of these products and what you think of them.

Until next time!

*These are all my opinions.  I am not an affiliate with Play! by Sephora, I just love the subscription and think you would too!

These products sound interesting! I like how you gave us an update on a December product also. When you review the next box, will you update us on that exfoliating gel? I’d like to know if you think it breaks you out over time.
