Flat Lay for Flat Lay in Motion Video No. 1. OfBanana Republic faux fur vest, Zara print blouse, Citizen of Humanity Jeans, Kendra Scott Earrings and Cole Haan tall black boots.

Hey Ladies!  Happy New Year! Have you thought about your goals for 2018?  I think goals are really important for everyone and they help give us direction and purpose in our lives.  I just started seriously blogging in the middle of 2017, so I have lots of goals in mind for 2018.  My business has been on a roller coaster ride for the past couple of years and blogging full-time was not something I thought I would be doing (but I am very glad it is!).   My dream is to educate women on how to have a versatile wardrobe without being boring, how to mix and match their pieces and how to make valuable purchases.  I want women to feel confident in who they are by loving how they look.  Sometimes it is hard to educate by just posting a picture on Instagram and showing what I purchased, so I’m coming up with new ways to approach this.

Bring My Flat Lays to Life

Flat Lays have always  been a very special part of Style by Jamie Lea.  My husband ( I have to give him credit, he’s a genius) and I have worked very hard to bring you detailed flat lay photos of all the outfits I recommend. I will still be doing these photos but I have decided to add some Flat Lay in Motion videos.  Through the videos I will be able to provide you with significantly more details about the outfit.  The flat lay photos are pretty but you can’t see how the items fit or how they look on the body.  Photographs of me in the outfits makes the items look better but you still don’t truly know any more details.  And if I have learned anything through this process of taking photographs it’s that the camera is not always accurate to what the eye sees.  The purpose of the video will be to explain to you why I put the particular outfit together, where and when you would wear it, what you could substitute if you didn’t have similar pieces and links to purchase similar or the same pieces.

This whole idea came about because my husband, who is also my photographer, did an impromptu video while we were taking pictures for my blog.  It actually turned out really cute so we decided to use it. We still have a long way to go in making them how we want them but I had to share my first one!  So, you will find it at the end of this post! YAY!

Better and More Valuable Content

It is very hard these days to bring valuable content to readers.  There is sooo much out there to choose from and sometimes it is all the same!  I want to bring you more details about what I know about clothing, how things fit, how to wear them together, how to make things in your wardrobe more versatile, what materials are good and what to stay away from and the list goes on.  My 20 year background in the women’s contemporary clothing industry has given me the expertise in these areas.  Sometimes it is very hard to put what is in my head on paper, but I am really going to try! So, look for more detailed blog posts in 2018!  If you have any suggestions of what you want to read about please let me know in the comments below!

Giveaways!

I want to reward those people that support me in all aspects of my business.  So if you are reading this hopefully you are a subscriber! If not, become a subscriber and you will have an even greater chance of winning a monthly Giveaway from Style by Jamie Lea. I am still working out the detail of how that is going to happen, so stay tuned! I will be writing a post soon on my Giveaways so sign up and you will get the details on that!

These are my top 3 goals for the year and I am hoping they help people stay engaged with Style by Jamie Lea and will help me grow even more in 2018.  There are other small goals that I have that I don’t want to bore you with!  Now it is time for you to watch the cute video! It tells you to “Tap to Listen” because this was produced for Instagram and will not apply here.

Please leave me a comment below on what you think!
